*This is the fifth in a series of interviews of the candidates for Washoe County Sheriff.
Adam Hopkins has over 25 years of Law Enforcement experience within the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office where he retired as a Lieutenant.
Hopkins has substantial experience in the Patrol and Detention sides of the office. He is a DOJ certified auditor, Certified Jail Manager, earned his Bachelors degree in Education from New Mexico State University and trains nationally on high liability topics for Law Enforcement.
Hopkins is focusing his campaign on saving lives, promoting recovery from drug and alcohol addiction which will lower crime rates, recidivism rates and ultimately the jail population. Hopkins is also focused on the Prevention of in-custody deaths and bridging the gap between Law Enforcement and all communities in Washoe County.
